Using Carbon Copy Cloner to boot Mac OS X from external drive. After clone, reboot and hold down “option” key when booting

First Use Carbon Copy Cloner to back up everything to your external fire wire drive. (Some drives are not bootable because of power saving features, WD Mybook may be one of these)

Hold down the option key while booting.

It will give you the option of which drive to boot from.

Once it boots, you should see the drive that booted at the top of the list in the “Finder”

You can also verify by going to “About this Mac” and it will tell you which drive booted.

The new Flip Utra HD. It is has 2 things that make it better than the mino HD. 1. Uses 2 AA Batteries. 2. Has HDMI out.

Bigger and heavier than the MinoHD but the 2 items mentioned make it the better value. Did I mention the UltraHD is cheaper

Thoughts on the new Skype app for iPhone. Great if you need to make international calls, other than that, so so.

I was hoping the new Skype app would have one way video chat so if I was out of town my kids could video chat (one way) and I could see them on my iPhone with the new Skype app. No such luck. I see the real value in the app is if you have friends outside the country. The Skype app will allow you to call them anywhere in the world, at Skype rates, from your iPhone which avoids having to be logged onto your computer with a headset.

A ++ for the new Skype app. For allowing you to make calls over wifi with an iPhone or iTouch 2.0 to foreign countries.
no option to receive streaming video from another Skype user.

Our fish of 5 years and 3 months did not survive the birthday party. Lizziefish you will be missed. You were a good fish.
